Borrisokane 1 - Rearcross 'B' 2

Rearcross 'B' travelled to Borrisokane for this Second Division Shield Quarter final and their first game of the new season and got off to a winning start by the narrowest of margins on a 2-1 score line, Rearcross were trailing one nil at the half time whistle when Colm Larkin who finished to the net for a well taken goal, a tactical move at half time saw Rearcross adopt a 4-4-2 formation in the second half which paid dividends when a delivery from Liam Ryan found Colin O'Doherty who turned a fired a half volley to the roof of the net. Rearcross piled on the pressure after this and were justly rewarded when Liam Ryan was again the provider when his quickly taken free kick caught the Borrisokane rearguard napping as Colin O'Doherty controlled with aplomb before chipping the Borrisokane netminder from fifteen yards, Borrisokane battled gallantly to the end, however some obstinate defending from Rearcross ensured passage to the semi-final stages.
