Limerick 1 - 1 FC Carlow
Saturday 15th August 2009Limerick FC U20s played their first home match of the season on Saturday, when they faced FC Carlow at Rearcross, Co Tipperary. Carlow started brightly and scored within minutes of kick-off with a cool finish. Limerick recovered quickly however, and equalised just minutes later with a well taken goal from Daniel Clinton. There was little between the sides for the rest of the first half. Carlow piled on the pressure in the second half in their quest for a winning goal. But Limerick showed great maturity in resisting this pressure and managed to create several excellent chances themselves. Both sides had chances to nick a winner in the closing stages, but it ended 1-1.
