
Lough Derg 'B' 2 - Rearcross 'B' 2
Rearcross 'B' remain unbeaten from three successive outings after grinding out a two all result against Lough Derg 'B' in this midweek floodlit encounter played iat Rearcross FC Grounds on Wednesday evening. The Rea bhoys hit the front on ten minutes when good work from Darren Quigley in the middle of the field triggered a move involving James Deegan and Joey Nolan before Liam Ryan finished between the posts from inside the box. The lead was short lived as the Ballina / Killaloe outfit were back level two minutes later after Keith Stritch's free kick deceived Sean Sheehy as the ball nestled in the corner of the net. A well contested tie throughout saw Rearcross come close on 26 minutes when PJ McLoughlin released James Deegan who was unlucky to see his low effort finish in the side netting. The home side were fast out of the traps in the second half and restored their advantage three minutes in when Paul McGrath was the provider to Liam Ryan who chipped the keeper for his sixth of the season. Rearcross enjoyed a period of dominance coming close with efforts from Joey Nolan and Darren Quigley. The visitors equalized late on when Jason Monaghan's free kick assisted by a deflection finished in the net. Both teams had chances to snatch a winner in the final minutes with Sean Sheehy producing a fine save in stoppage time to secure a deserved share of the spoils from the home side.
